An Uong is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and a current Creative Nonfiction MFA candidate at Emerson College. She is Editor and Community Liaison at AIR (the Association of Independents in Radio). Her writing is forthcoming or has appeared in Catapult, Skin Deep Magazine, Wildness Journal, Roads and Kingdoms, and elsewhere. She lives in New England, where she can be found camping, hiking, or rock climbing when she’s not running after a bus or subway. She also has a knack for ill-timed laughter.
An was born in Vietnam and raised in Los Angeles. She is drawn toward exploring human relationships within the contexts of art, culture and community. Her thoughts tend to gravitate toward migration and cultural dislocation. She has explored these concepts through interactive art, journalism and simply talking to others. Through her interviews with strangers and community members, she hopes to find insight into the intricacies of human connection and interaction. (CV)
